Not only does this mark the first time in the 15-year history of the Sydney Festival of Lights that a Chinese artist has presented two works, but it also conveys Chinese romanticism and technological confidence through the artworks, earning special coverage from Xinhua News Agency. The work 'Fly To The Moon' draws inspiration from the ancient Chinese myth 'Chang'e Flying to the Moon,' reinterpreted with modern technological language. Shao Jiaxin expressed her hope that through this piece, she would not only present the visual wonders of the moon but also tell a Chinese story of lunar exploration. She aims to create a transcendent dialogue between the ancient dream of flying to the heavens and China's modern achievements in lunar exploration.
Another work, 'Telephone,' draws inspiration from the tender conversations between mother and child.
