Imagine this: in the city square, a forest of glowing, colorful prisms suddenly appears! This is Prismatica, an interactive light installation created by the Canadian design studio RAW Design.

RAW Design excels at integrating architectural thinking into public art. Their works are often full of geometric beauty and emphasize public participation, with other representative pieces including Winter Stations 2017 in Toronto. They believe that art should step out of galleries and become an urban landscape that everyone can touch and play with.

Fifty triangular prisms, each two meters tall, lie scattered like giant colorful crystals. Every face of the prism can rotate freely!

When you gently push them, the prisms refract the surrounding light, buildings, and crowds, making the whole world seem to be shattered and then reassembled into a flowing kaleidoscope. RAW Design aims to break down the barrier between art and the audience, allowing everyone to create their own unique moments of light and shadow through the simplest interaction—rotation.

02 Blu Marble

Author: Sebastian Errazuriz is well-deservedly called a "slash youth" in the art world. Born in Chile, he studied design in London. His works are bold in style, full of critical spirit and a sense of humor, often challenging conventions and exploring social, political and environmental issues. His representative works include "12 Shoes for 12 Lovers".

Blu Marble is a massive 20-foot-tall LED structure that depicts real-time feeds of Earth from space. Visible both day and night, it invites the public to contemplate their own existence in an unprecedented form and scale.

The name "Blu Marble" derives from that famous full-view photograph of the Earth, taken during the Apollo 17 mission. Through this enormous yet solitary sphere, Errazuriz intuitively draws people's attention to their planetary home. From a macroscopic perspective, he awakens humanity's awareness of its own insignificance and fragility, urging people to cherish the limited time of life.

03 The Fishbowl
At the annual Burning Man Festival in Nevada's desert, a huge hollow structure called "The Fishbowl" has attracted countless people. This is a work by The Very Many studio, led by artist Bland Hoke. It conveys pure joy to people through its simple yet healing imagery.IMG_268

Otto the goldfish in The Fishbowl draws inspiration from the children's book A Fish Out of Water. Initially installed in a courtyard known as "the fishbowl" at an art center, Otto spent the winter there, and due to UV exposure, beautiful gradient colors formed on its fluorescent orange vinyl scales.

The Fishbowl looks like a huge woven goldfish. During the day, sunlight filters through its intricate grid, casting enchanting light and shadow on the ground; at night, when the internal lights are turned on, the entire structure glows with a crystal-clear radiance. Though its structure seems complex, it somehow imparts a wonderful sense of shelter and openness.

Hoke's works are deeply inspired by natural forms. He stated, "The Fishbowl walks the line between wonder and simplicity, sparking people's imagination and even bringing a smile to their faces."
